The person that photographs your wedding is just as important as the photographs themselves.
Alain
Music was Alain's first love, but he was always a creative person and had a passion for the arts. When he first got into photography, he was actually reluctant to shoot weddings. "I had an idea in my head that wedding photos were always cheesy, traditional and that there wasn’t a lot of creativity that went into them. But then a friend of mine got married and when I saw her photos, I realized that wedding photos didn’t have to be boring! They could be as photojournalistic and creative as any other form of photography." He also realized how much joy wedding photos bring to couples and loved the idea of being part of that. Fast forward several years and you'll find him in his 13th wedding season, honored to be able to create lasting memories for so many couples.
James
Originally a northern Michigan native, James has been living in Chicago since 2013. He’s spent the last decade photographing weddings, families, and their four-legged friends, both in the Chicagoland area, and around the world.
Back in the pre-digital days of film cameras, James' passion for telling stories through images first took hold when he joined his high school yearbook staff as a photographer. He continued on as a hobbyist throughout his time at Michigan State University, and even spent a summer abroad during his junior year. Living in London and traveling throughout Europe, he was rarely without a camera in hand, further fueling his love of photography.
After finishing school and entering the corporate world, James also began shooting weddings professionally. It didn’t take long to realize it was what he truly enjoyed doing, and was the perfect way to continue telling stories through imagery. For James’, it’s all about capturing the memories of couples and families, ensuring they’ll last for lifetimes to come.
DAVID
David has spent his entire working life behind cameras. That’s over 25 years photographing over 300 weddings, scores of families, and countless children. (Not to mention his work on annual reports and editorial and advertising campaigns). Weddings, however, bring him the most joy; after a commercial shoot, an art director and photographer will shake hands, but after a wedding, the reward comes with hugs and, often, tears. Now that’s satisfaction.
Born and raised in Chicago, David also is based out of Jackson Hole, Wyoming; his passport is always up to date, and he shoots globally. He’s also fortunate to have a great sitter to look after his two rescue cats while he’s away! And when he’s home you can likely find him – in normal times! – at the Court Theater, cycling throughout the city, or in his kitchen making a delicious mess.
