Engagement Shoot Tips

Fresh Face Forward

If possible, schedule the trial with your makeup artist for the same day as your engagement shoot. This way, you’ll be able to test your makeup on camera and look photo ready.  If you're not quite there yet in your planning, it's still not a bad idea to hire a makeup artist for the shoot, or perhaps even visit a makeup counter at a department store.

Put It In A Bag

Pack the important things (touch up kits, brush, water, blankets for park/beach shots, etc).  It’s also a great place to store your purse and cell phone while you're shooting.

Bring a Friend

Having a familiar face around can help make you feel more comfortable in front of the camera.  It's also fun to have photos where you might be laughing and looking off camera, and who better to help than one of your best friends. They can also be handy by helping with holding your personal belongings, changing outfits, and more!

Stripes & Checks

Be sure you come in clothes that make you feel great about yourself!  That said though, keep in mind that dots, checks, and stripes can often be a bit too busy for photographs. Also remember, layers offer a ton of versatility for photo options too.

Relax & Have Fun!

The e-sesh is our opportunity to get to know each other a little more!  It also allows you and your fiancé to get used to being guided and photographed by a professional. We use a mix of traditional and dynamic posing styles so that you get the best photos possible.
